The Certificate of Origin accompanies every branded Polar Bear Diamond over .30ct.  This guarantees that your diamond has been mined in Canada and carefully  selected to be cut and polished with precision to the world's highest standards.

The colorful streams of light that appear in the northern night sky were the
inspiration behind the creation of the celerated Northern Lights Diamonds.
The dispersion of light within the eighty - nine exquisitely polished facets
surrounding a prominent eight - sided crown is a display unlike any other.
We invite you to explore the world of Polar Bear Canadian Diamonds.

Watch for this Symbol

If you decide that a government certified diamond gives you the added
assurance you need, then look for brands that come with the Government
of the Northwest Territories' distinct emblem, official printed documentation
and the registration number minutely engraved on the stone's girdle.
These Diamonds may cost a fraction more, but they are the only ones
certified by government to be mined, cut and polished in Canada.  Ask
for government certified Canadian Diamonds and accept nithing less.

Each of our Diamonds is Canadian born and raised, carefully selected,
measured and calibrated for their precise proportions and maximum
brilliance.  We are proud to present Diamonds mined, cut and polished
in Canada.

Polar Bear Diamonds are carefully selected as set out by the Northwest
Territories Government Monitoring and Certification program.  This
certification program is the only governmental system in the world that
tracks EACH individual Diamond from the mining stage through to the
final cutting process.  Having met every requirement, the Polar Bear
Diamond is then officially certified.  Then the Polar Bear Diamond is
Gemprinted and registered in the Gemprint International database.
Polar Bear Diamonds can be distinguished by a microscopically laser -
engraved polar bear on the girdle and by a GNWT government certificate
number.

Your assurance of 100% all Canadian government certified Diamond.
All Polar Bear Diamonds are mined, cut and polished in Canada.  Polar
Bear Diamonds are available in round brilliant cut, princess cuts, emerald
cuts and radiant cuts.

Q:  Why are Diamonds branded?
A:  A comparison of the legendary jewelry brands of the world reveals
a common theme:  a relentless pursuit of quality.  The trust that a quality.
The trust that a quality product and service instills in the mindset of the
consumer is invaluable.  As a producer of the most Precious and Enduring
Symbol of Love, Polar Bear Diamonds stands behind its belief that the
pursuit of quality should never be underestimated.  We brand our
Diamonds simply because it provides a guarantee to our customers
to our customers of our high standard of quality.

Q:  Where do Polar Bear Diamonds come from?
A:  All of our diamonds are mined, cut and polished in Canada, in
a factory located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories are employing
100% Canadian workers.

Q:  What is government certification in relation to
diamonds and why is it important?
A:  The only government certification available today is through the
Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) in Canada.  This
program, the world's first, guarantees not only a diamond's place
of origin (where it was mined) but also, its place and quality of
manufacture.  Diamonds cut in Canada, by Canadian manufacturers,
under the strict scrutiny of a government body, obviously carry a
greater validity and provide higher value and peace of mind.  In
addition to the GNWT certificate, Polar Bear Diamonds provides
the most comprehensive Diamond quality guarantee in the world.

Q:  How does and "Ideal" cut affect a Diamond's value?
A:  All Diamonds in North America are appraised for both cut value,
and how closely they align to a defined "Ideal" balance of dispersion,
brilliance and scintillations, which in combination define the beauty of
the Diamond.  All fancy and round Polar Bear Diamonds are cut to
maximize the play of light while always falling within the standards
defined by the world's best gem laboratories and by the world's best
cutters and polishers.  It is important to understand that a quality
certificate from one of these gem labs significantly enhances a
Diamond's value and premium marketability.

Q:  Can Diamond Manufacturers legally use terms
such as  "Made in Canada", "Canadian Diamond" and
Canadian symbols to market diamonds which are cut
and polished outside Canada?
A:  The Competition Bureau of Industry Canada has developed a policy
or code that states that any Diamond can use these terms and symbols
as long as it has been mined in Canada.  There is great concern within
the Diamond Industry as to what this means practically to Diamond
manufacturers, jewelers and the Diamond - buying public.
When you select a Polar Bear Diamond, you can be certain that it was
mined responsibly.  The companies that mine Diamonds in the
Northwest Territories must observe strong Canadian laws that protect
the environment and the mine workers.  Before Diamond Companies
can build mines in Canada's frozen north, they are required to make a
careful assessment of the environment.  Under the permitting process,
mining companies must demonstrate that impacts on vegetation, air and
water quality, and wildlife populations are sustainable.  In addition, social
and economic impacts on northern communities are carefully monitored.

Diamonds, Gemstones, and Jewelry

People have worn and loved Jewelry, Gemstones and Diamonds for thousands of years.  Some of the oldest human remains ever found, dating back over thirty thousand years were wearing simple Jewelry adornment, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings, some bearing Gemstones and even Diamonds.  Our Gemstone and Diamond Jewelry is the best we can make.  We cut our own Gemstones and Manufacture the finest quality Gemstone and Diamond Jewelry in Vermont.  Our Jewelry starts with original design and timeless style. From there we select the appropriate Gemstone from our vast selection of natural Gemstones from around the world.   In some cases only a custom cut Gemstone from our lapidaries will do.
Gemstones are our first love; to us nothing is as beautiful as a Perfectly Cut Gemstone mounted in a expertly made example of Fine Jewelry accented with natures own crisp White Diamond.  The word Gem is derived from the Greek word GEMMA meaning Flower or Flower Bud, reflecting the ancients appreciation of natures Gemstone perfection.  Not all Gemstones are perfect as-is when they come from the ground for jewelry making.  The art of fashioning gemstones for jewelry has been perfected over thousands of years.  Originally people were trying to improve the level of perfection found in natures Gemstones and to make them more sparkly and attractive.  The art of Cutting Gemstones and Making Jewelry is alive and well at Stowe Gems!  Diamonds, for instance, when found are not always perfect or even sparkly, it is the gem cutters skill that brings out the full beauty of the rough gemstone and allows the jewelry to take full advantage of natures inner gemstone beauty.  Jewelry Quality Diamonds are very difficult to cut, and that, combined with the intrinsic rarity of Diamond, has made Diamond perhaps the most treasured of Gemstones.  Diamond is legendary for its hardness, Ten on the Mohs Scales, a Diamond is actually much harder than any known natural substance.    Diamond is also potentially the most transparent substance known, there factors and Diamonds ability to take a uniquely high polish, make Diamond the most south after Gemstone for Jewelry.  The Diamonds we use in jewelry are produced in a manner sensitive to social and political conflict based on personal knowledge and/or relying on information provided by the seller.  Our Diamonds have been produced by legitimate sources of Diamonds not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations Diamond resolutions, to the best of our knowledge.  Our Canadian Diamonds are a perfect example of non - conflict Diamonds they are from Canada’s North West Territory Diamond Mines.  These Diamonds have, as a rule, Beautiful White Color and Great Clarity.  These Diamonds are graded the same way as other Diamonds from any other Diamond Producing Region in the World.  Mounted in our Jewelry these Diamonds are Spectacular!  We import these great Diamonds directly from the Diamond Miners and Diamond Cutters, there are no middlemen as in the traditional Diamond distribution system.  We are very excited about this new source of Diamond, as these Diamonds are supplies out side of any controlling Carte.  This means that Stowe Gems will be able to provide a steady supply of Diamond, as supplies are controlled and restricted even more in the future.   Diamonds, Gemstones and Jewelry, its what Stowe Gems is all about!
